This is definitely a case of less haste, less hassle, so give yourself time to relax and plan your departure. Try and avoid rushing to the boat from home or work and taking the shore-side haste and stress on board with you.
If possible, visit the marina office and check the forecast, make sure you have all the food, fuel and water supplies you will need for your trip, and give the boat a once-over to make sure that it hasn’t sustained any damage since your last visit.
