At the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show this weekend (3 and 4 March), Alexandra Palace, London, the RYA will be unveiling its latest eBook; RYA Advanced Sailing.

Advanced Sailing is the latest title to be made available for the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch® which you can download through the FREE ‘RYA Books’ app, available from the App StoreSM* and will be available to purchase in full this weekend.

If you want to know more about the new eBook, visitors to the show will have the opportunity to ‘try before they buy’ using the iPad on the RYA Stand (Panorama Hall).

As well as the new RYA Advanced Sailing eBook, the RYA will also be offering a free taster of the new RYA Tactics eBook, which will not only be available to view on the RYA stand but will be showcased on the Volvo Main Stage at approximately 1500 on Saturday.

“We are delighted to be showing visitors what these two great new eBooks have to offer at the show this weekend”, explained RYA Publications Manager, Steen Ingerslev.

“We have taken the very popular RYA Advanced Sailing Handbook and embedded key video clips to support the techniques illustrated in the book. The eBook offers you the opportunity to have access to all the wonderful content, instantly accessible and easy to navigate, on a device that so many people have.”

There are plenty more eBooks in the pipe line with RYA Day Skipper Motor and RYA Personal Watercraft coming soon. RYA eBooks will also be available for Android within the next few months.

Since launching at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September 2011, there have been over 17,000 downloads of the free RYA App from all over the world and the RYA Start Powerboating eBook is currently proving to be the best seller.

“The eBooks have really exceeded our expectations and in fact are exceeding industry expectations.  Of the few eBooks currently available 18% of copies sold are eBooks and we have also received excellent feedback from Instructors saying that: ‘they have been a great instructing tool especially the embedded video content’”, concluded Steen.
